Kathmandu Valley will experience relief from the heat later this evening
KATHMANDU, JUNE 15
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology reported that the Kathmandu Valley will experience some relief from the rising temperatures later this evening. Today, the temperature has slightly declined, offering a break from the recent heat. Meteorologist Saroj Pudashaini shared that the valley is currently witnessing the general impact of the monsoon, resulting in light rainfall during the afternoon.
Tonight, the valley is predicted to have a thundershower, contributing to the cooling trend. Despite the monsoon spreading from the east towards the west, Pudashaini mentioned that it should still be considered only as a pre-monsoon phase. This gradual onset of the monsoon is typical for this time of year.
The weather this afternoon is expected to be cooler compared to the previous day. Pudashaini added that the maximum temperature is predicted to stay between 29 to 31°C, a noticeable drop from the 33.4°C recorded on Friday. This cooler weather is a welcome change for residents of the Kathmandu Valley.
